Norwegian alt-pop artist and producer ARY releases her new single “Running in a Dream” today, giving listeners the first taste of her upcoming album set to drop this spring! Three years after her critically acclaimed album “For Evig” (2022), which won the Norwegian Spellemann Award in the “Best Electronic” category and was celebrated by fans, ARY (Ariadne Loinsworth) is back with fresh tracks that promise to captivate.
The single “Running in a Dream” is now available on all DSP platforms, and some lucky fans have already experienced the song live. Reflecting on the creative process, ARY shares: “The first version of ‘Running in a Dream’ was born during a writing retreat at the Clarion in Bjørvika, Oslo. I had the chance to use one of the suites overlooking the opera house, and I locked myself in to record the first two demos for my new project. I left all my music equipment at home – all I had was my Mac, a small keyboard (which I forgot the cable for), and my AirPods.
It was incredibly liberating to make music without all that equipment – not having to worry about synthesizers and high-quality microphones, but simply chasing the ideas. ‘Running in a Dream’ came like a gift out of nowhere on the second day. In just a few inspired hours, the song took shape.”

“Running in a Dream” signifies the start of a new chapter. While her debut album “For Evig” was steeped in profound sorrow—a sentiment still resonates in her music—it has evolved. The haunting darkness depicted in “For Evig” transforms in “Running in a Dream” and the forthcoming album into a quest for a way forward. Grief is natural and unavoidable, but with time, it can also become a habit or an excuse to stop actively living your life.
This year, ARY will perform at festivals like Slottsfjell, NEON, Piknik i Parken, and Bergenfest in Norway, with more festival dates to be announced soon. “Running in a Dream” was written, produced, and performed by ARY herself, and it was mixed and mastered by Matt Karmil. Embrace the journey and dive into the dream with ARY’s latest musical offering.
