Video Premiere: EB Rebel – Buenas Noches

Dallas-born, now NYC-based alternative rap and electronic artist EB Rebel makes waves with the premiere of “Buenas Noches,” a lead single from their upcoming EP, Play At Your Own Risk, set to drop on 28th March 2025.

“Buenas Noches” is an electrifying, avant-garde track that showcases EB’s dynamic lyrical flow, shifting seamlessly from fierce intensity to a more brooding, ominous tone. Speaking of the track, EB shared, “I wrote this song after a really good show. The audience’s reception had me feeling good and really inspired me to go home and write. As an artist, you do your best work in the night hours, grinding while everyone else is sleep. That’s what the first verse is about. Working, sacrificing, all for that feel you get on stage, or when someone hears your music. Second verse is just having a little fun. Talking about what comes with the lifestyle.”

After earning a Bachelor’s in Legal Studies, EB Rebel found their true calling in music. Though originally pursuing a career in law, the downturn of the economy coupled with a relentless creative passion led Rebel to abandon law school in favour of producing and performing. They began crafting multiple beats daily, finally discovering their voice as both a producer and artist.

Rebel’s big break arrived after submitting their music to the Raw Dallas showcase committee, receiving an encouraging response that solidified their belief in a musical path. The pivotal moment came in 2015, sparked by the tragic deaths of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, when they penned a poignant anthem for the Black Lives Matter movement, aiming to inspire a wave of change.

May 2016 saw the release of “Don’t Care,” the lead single from the EP TRANCE. After sharing the track with BLM activist DeRay McKesson, it quickly garnered traction, landing coverage from DFW outlet Central Track and national publication Afropunk. Within a week, the anthem was included in the BET documentary “Stay Woke,” directed by Laurens Grant and produced by Jesse Williams, which featured music from hip-hop giants like J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar.

To date, EB Rebel has released a series of singles that have amassed over half a million streams, capturing the attention of major national publications and brands, including Afropunk, EARMILK, BET, MTV, Sofar Sounds, and Bose. Keep an eye on this rising artist as they continue to redefine the alternative rap landscape.
