Since the debut of her album “love and other disasters” in 2021, Iris has navigated through loss, heartbreak, and profound transitions. “Again, for the first time” channels these experiences into powerful, intimate songs that weave raw honesty with playful curiosity, a return to her inner child as a pathway to rediscovering strength.

Her elegant songwriting craft and confessional lyrics create music that encapsulates both sorrow and joy. The standout track “Dragonfly,” penned after the passing of her grandmother, serves as both a lament and a celebration of enduring love. Closing the album is the soaring electropop anthem “Alchemy (Living Is Not For The Heart)”, a symbol of transformation and renewal.

Album highlights include the catchy “I’m in the corner, alone,” which dives into themes of depression and facade; the euphoric spring anthem “Spring Rush”; and “Serpentine,” a timeless pop piece born from outrage and liberation. The track “shaky” journeys from fragility to defiance, while “this is the place” yearns for deep connection and love.

Collaboratively written and co-produced with Askjell Solstrand (known for his work with Sigrid and AURORA), Iris’ album is also enriched by contributions from a diverse array of songwriters, Åke Olofsson, William Dinesen, Jon Olav, Lauritz Emil Christiansen, Botaii, Jimi Somewhere, Milo Orchis, Mugisho, and her long-time partner Vetle Junker. The result is an album that shimmers with warm sonic textures and bold harmonies.

“Again, for the first time” showcases Iris Caltwait in a way that is unfiltered and alive, embracing transformation, reconnecting with her past selves, and emerging with a fuller, fearless voice. Don’t miss the chance to witness her evolution live in Berlin!
