All outfits by Bas Kosters. “I started cultivating my own style since I was 2 years old. In time, I slowly started to learn the importance of fashion and communication. I started my personal way of communicating with the world, translated through fashion. Using my passion for nature and my fascination with the diversity of beauty, in all her strangest and sometimes even absurd forms, I started developing projects around fashion. Fashion allows me to unravel my expressions in a language none are familiair with. Occasionally myself included. With this vision, I already created two different couture collections, with the third one, Fo Me Ne Ri Ku, developing as we speak. Always in a search of places where magic and reality converge. Project ‘Wallflower’, with not a designing, but an styling and art directing approach. It is a collaboration between different amazing artists. Bas Kosters with his amazing designs, Kees Penders who was able to capture ‘Wallflower’ in breathtaking results and Lang Leav. An amazing poet who found the words I could not find, when I yearned to do so” says Hiske Hottinga.
Wallflower
Shrinking in a corner,
pressed into the wall;
do they know I’m present,
am I here at all?
Is there a written rule book,
that tells you how to be-
all the right things to talk about-
that everyone has but me?
Slowly I am withering-
a flower deprived of sun;
longing to belong to,
somewhere or someone.
