Karmen Vera Barrera (she/he/they) is a versatile artist from Seville, Spain, with a background in cinematography and film studies. In 2021, they moved to the Netherlands to develop their distinctive underground photographic style, presenting eight exhibitions in one year and collaborating with local collectives and galleries.
In 2024, Karmen relocated to Milan to advance in fashion photography, publishing in Neo2 Magazine and Contributor Magazine, while assisting established photographers. Their next destination is Berlin.
Karmen works across multiple mediums—painting, drawing, poetry—but photography remains central. Their work is characterised by raw honesty, emotional depth, and immersive storytelling, inviting viewers to connect intimately with each subject.
