Wild Things

Timeless is too often a word thrown around in fashion to fill press releases with a sense of meaning. But what does it mean to reach 50 years old and still be a part of an industry obsessed with youth? What does it mean to stare at a new face, a new body and talk about something timeless? I am still here. I am still creating. The difference is that, like my flesh, the clothes I am designing are richer, deeper and require more care. Being older is not only decaying, but also expanding in experiences, in emotions, in connections.

This collection sees FIELD of PONIES experimenting with new materials such as satin, velour, alpaca jacquard, fine ribbed jersey and neoprene. New shapes are introduced, such as a bodysuit, a button-up shirt, frilled high-waisted trousers and padded leg warmers.

SPACES OPEN UP AND BECOME INFUSED WITH BEAUTY,
EVERYTHING HAS A MEANING
HEARING EVERYTHING IN THE STILLNESS,
IDEAS CONNECTING LIKE SPARKLES

FIELD of PONIES is a dialogue between soft and hard. Edgy yet comfortable, assertive yet non-sexual, rude but cute. The brand has been attracting fashion dissidents for just over a decade. FIELD of PONIES is proud to design mostly non-gendered clothing and has been offering visibility to non-binary models for many years.

FIELD OF PONIES is designed by Julie Berube, who has 25 years of industry experience as a fashion designer and maker. Launched in 2013 in London, Field of Ponies is an independent label with the particularity of being entirely made by the designer, with some small production batches made in a London factory. FIELD of PONIES also creates custom outfits for emerging and established artists such as Bambie Thug, Ashnikko, Yeule, Zand, Ho99o9, Chippy Nonstop, Salvia and more. Julie has completed the Mastered: Streetwear program mentored by Virgil Abloh in 2016. She works on side projects as a visual artist, costume designer, stylist and art director.
