Your weekend isn’t ready until you’ve listened to this mix! White Lie hails from Sweden but started DJing in Berlin late 2014, by true coincidence. What started out as an experiment and a cheeky way to poke fun at Berlin’s male-dominated techno scene, quickly took a serious turn when she started to collect records, throw parties, and grasp a bigger understanding of DJ culture and underground dance music. Her vinyl collection now ranges from disco to soul, jazz to house, via broken beat and hiphop. Always trusting her guts, driven by impulse and the atmosphere in the room. Frequently a contributor on Rinse France, Hotel Radio Paris, Le Mellotron, and Cashmere Radio as well as DJing alongside Steve Spacek, soulsinger Misumami, and MC Black Prez she’s constantly proving her diversity in taste and style. Determined to keep it bright and soulful she’s been playing recent gigs in Paris, Stockholm, and “all over the place” in her homebase Berlin.
