Premiere: Dahlia, 27LEGENDS and Maeve – ‘Only Love Can Hurt Us’

‘Only Love Can Hurt Us’ is the world’s first song created with Sevdaliza’s AI-cloned voice model, Dahlia following Sevdaliza’s announcement that the public could transform their vocals into Dahlia’s and release music with her via the AI music platform, myvox.ai. Written and produced by 27LEGENDS and Maeve, the vocals were sung by Maeve and then transformed into Dahlia’s (Sevdaliza’s) voice using the platform.

‘Only Love Can Hurt Us’ is the first chapter of the 27Legends universe, where in their world transhumanism and machine-learning have left their universe desperate to feel something. ‘Only Love Can Hurt Us’ is about the importance of love and being vulnerable to ultimately find freedom. 27LEGENDS will be revealing more about their origin story over a series of releases.

AI has made it possible to collaborate with a fellow artist that I’ve always looked up to. The potential for this new technology, for independent musicians like me is crazy.

From the depths of crumbling cityscapes and dystopian ruins emerge 27Legends. A collective led by avatar, Bones with a mission of creating shared experiences of utopia. With the city growing loveless now community is more important than ever. Learning to live their lives with machines and being forced to answer questions like “What does it mean to be Human?” has led their world to feel disconnected. 27Legends was conceptualized when Bones started creating spaces where through shared experiences, emotional connection and vulnerability you can feel like you are human again.

Welcome to the universe where Legends never die.

27LEGENDS is inspired by advances in technology, community and collaboration. Blurring the lines between virtual and real life, 27Legends want to push the boundaries on how music is consumed, experienced and created. 27Legends plan to unfold their origin story over a series of releases.

27LEGENDS

Proving to be her most dynamic work to date, the Raving Dahlia project was born out of Sevdaliza’s own precarious experience in the music industry and her entire life journey as a woman who has inevitably broken new ground on many fronts. This new body of work embodies the remnants of Sevdaliza’s frustrations, pressures and the unmeasurable expectations put on a female artist driven to sustain a burgeoning career during her own development as a woman. The new chapter is told through the perspective of Dahlia; Sevdaliza’s (im)perfect self.

Pivotal on many levels, the Raving Dahlia project puts the power in the hands of independent artists serving as an instrument to provide them with their freedom of choice and ability to redefine “perfection” to ultimately achieve true liberation.

Maeve

Boundary-less, honest, 100% self-made, multi-hyphenate, Maeve is everything a true artist has to be in 2023. Whether sonically or in real life, Maeve has always existed in liminal spaces. Hailing from tiny island, Grand Cayman, she relocated to London after a storm wrecked her family home. Now her creations are storms unto themselves. Her multi- instrumentalism and daring production techniques that are at once delicate and ferocious – but are now laced with cinema, defies genre. Maeve has let us in deeper to her story and leaves us wondering what is coming next. Bewitching, bold and as honest as her lyrics, Maeve follows the auteur tradition of artists like Kate Bush, Bjork and Imogen Heap as a visual artist who embraces the innovative.
