Last weekend, Berlin’s next generation of design talent took centre stage as the HTW Fashion Design Department presented a joint runway presentation during Berlin Art Week. Staged across Fashionblock Berlin and the adjoining Atelierhaus, with essential support from PLATTE Berlin, the showcase transformed the space into an all-encompassing, immersive experience. From concept to final silhouette, this was honestly one of the best student presentations I’ve witnessed.

Anchored in the concept of “360 degrees”, a perspective designed to fully submerge the spectator in the garment’s construction, atmosphere, and underlying concept—the runway highlighted collections from the Creative Identity SS26 class alongside selected graduates. Curated by Prof. Anke Schlöder, the presentation moved beyond a traditional catwalk into a multi-sensory dialogue between textile, spatial design, and moving image.
The immersive atmosphere was brought to life through dedicated cross-disciplinary collaborations, featuring spatial concepts by set designer Jamie Lee O’Shea, a responsive live sonic environment orchestrated by sound designers Rio Sierra and Andrea Zuliani, and visual narrative components created by video designer Manu Escorihuela.
