Having recently supported Sega Bodega and Lyra Pramuk in Paris, Dublin based, non-binary artist ALYXIS releases ‘LUCKY’; a mutated bass fuck-step that explores themes of lonliness, anxiety and search for solace in the modern world. The song explores the human tendency to seek temporary relief and a sense of security through various means such as mindfulness apps, podcasts, and similar digital resources.
In the video for ‘LUCKY’, ALYXIS intriguingly examines the possibility of accessing such solace through an AI chatbot from XOIOXO (their self-constructed virtual world) called Oracle—an entity that presents itself as a reassuring voice, guiding and encouraging individuals to embrace their solitude and assert control over their personal space.

Movements like body positivity and LGBTQI+ activism inspire me to create a virtual world that fosters self-expression, body acceptance, gender fluidity, and a sense of belonging. XOIOXO becomes a platform where individuals can find solace, support, and liberation, just like real-world communities that prioritise creativity, personal growth, and self-expression.”
Inspired by the potential of technology and exploration of virtual realities found in the science fiction world (Blade Runner, The Fifth Element, The Matrix), ALYXIS is recognising the potential for sanctuaries for dreamers in an increasingly angry and judgemental world.
