Australian collective SUPEREGO share poignant video for ‘Caller ID’

The five-piece SUPEREGO has been pushing the boundaries of hip-hop in Australia for some time now. Based in Fremantle, WA, the collective made up of producers, rappers, singers and multi-instrumentalists, deliver experimental, electronically influenced, drum-driven tracks with thoughtful and often aggressive bars and glitchy sax lines. After transitioning from POW Negro in 2018, the newly formed SUPEREGO has taken on a new direction, both musically and mentally. “‘Caller ID’ speaks to the inner turmoil we face when dealing with feelings of inadequacy, helplessness and self-loathing; the results of the dichotomy between the masks we wear, so as not to burden those around us and our own internal grief,” explains the band. Watch the new trippy clip below.
