On Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025, HADERLUMP unveiled its extraordinary Spring/Summer 2026 collection, “EXLIBRIS,” at the prestigious Haus der Visionäre during Berlin Fashion Week. The ambience was electric as 450 guests gathered in a thoughtfully curated space that delved into themes of identity, authorship, and the significance of ownership.

The collection’s title, “Exlibris,” which translates from Latin to “from the books,” invokes the enchanting tradition of small, printed plates nestled within cherished volumes, signifying their ownership. These minute artworks, rich in symbolism and detail, evoke deep connections to identity. Each exlibris plate—a motto, coat of arms, or mythological figure – declares: This is mine. This is who I am.

Channelling that same spirit, HADERLUMP’s collection navigates not through direct visual references but through the inherent attitude captured in these historical items. EXLIBRIS interrogates the delicate balance between the physical and digital realms, permanence and fleetingness, asking: What lingers when the mediums fade? Is it possible for art and identity to vanish entirely?

Under the visionary guidance of creative director Johann Ehrhardt, EXLIBRIS employs historical bookplates as a conceptual backbone. Silhouettes oscillate between sculptural impact and expressive fluidity, with tailored bombers and broad-shouldered coats commanding presence while corseted blouses and draped skirts introduce a dynamic softness. These designs pay homage to classical forms yet remain firmly anchored in contemporary sensibility, with each piece radiating intentional artistry.

Materials and textures evoke the tactile experience of aged books: the coarse linen of antiquated pages, the polished grain of vintage leather, the crisp folds of pressed paper. Denim, leather, and responsibly sourced deadstock linen create a fabric lexicon that mirrors the wear and complexity of treasured relics. The colour palette, with its muted hues of faded ink, weathered parchment, and charcoal, invites an intimate, atmospheric experience, rich yet restrained.

Collaboration remains at the heart of HADERLUMP’s philosophy. For EXLIBRIS, they joined forces with Berlin-based accessories powerhouse Liebeskind to transform archival bag styles into modern expressions of exlibris symbols, each piece redefining ownership through a contemporary lens. Hair and makeup were meticulously orchestrated by Caia Cosmetics, enhancing the intricate interplay of structure and movement throughout the looks.

The runway at Haus der Visionäre provided a backdrop of introspective calm. Guests were enveloped in a kinetic soundscape crafted by Chontane, where object-based audio technology adapted in real-time to accompany the models, echoing the collection’s exploration of presence and identity. The thoughtfully selected model cast, curated in partnership with Joy Livia, underscores HADERLUMP’s unwavering commitment to authenticity and representation.

EXLIBRIS transcends nostalgia, serving instead as a profound reflection on how we carry meaning into the future. It positions garments as printed plates, crafted, specific, and declarative. In a world dominated by mass production and transient trends, this collection advocates for intention—garments that feel personal, that truly belong.

With EXLIBRIS, HADERLUMP continues to refine its creative identity, transforming historic sensibilities into contemporary interpretations. The collection challenges us to ponder what it means to leave a mark—and what kind of mark is truly worth leaving.

Behind the scenes, acclaimed photographer Shin Jeong Hoon captured the palpable energy, granting us a glimpse into the artistry and passion that radiate from this remarkable brand. HADERLUMP Atelier Berlin has been a staple at Fashion Week since 2023, its expressive, progressive urban aesthetic deftly blending resilience with grace, rebellion with sophistication. Under Johann Ehrhardt’s direction, the brand consistently explores themes of self-assurance and strength amid the complexities of modern existence.

With a legacy of standout collections, including DYSTOPIA (FW23), OPUS MANUUM (SS24), CIRCULARIS (AW24), AERO (SS25), and SOLIVAGANT (AW25), HADERLUMP’s focus on movement pulsates through its experimental silhouettes and sharp tailoring, all crafted exclusively from deadstock fabrics. Once again, this season reaffirms HADERLUMP’s position as a pivotal force in the fashion landscape, embodying the future of German style.
