Swiss artist Vendredi sur Mer, also known as Charline Mignot, has just released her third album, “Malabar Princess.” Following the critical acclaim of her debut “Premiers émois” (2019), which captured youthful exuberance through a unique blend of spoken and sung vocals, and her sophomore effort “Métamorphose” (2022), which redefined her sound through raw techno influences, “Malabar Princess” marks a stunning return to gentle nostalgia and organic sound, departing from electronic elements. Join her on Friday, May 16th, for a captivating performance at Frannz Club in Berlin! Don’t miss out—this is a show worth attending!

In “Malabar Princess,” Vendredi sur Mer channels the majestic mountains of her childhood, breathing life into her music with delicate piano, drumming, and languid synthesisers. Collaborating with producer Sam Tiba and artists such as Adrien Gallo and Owlle, this album presents an honest and poetic journey of identity, heritage, and self-discovery. More than just music, “Malabar Princess” is an intimate expedition, inviting listeners to uncover the true essence of the artist.

While the album takes its name from a 1950 plane crash on the Bossons Glacier, it transcends the associated tragedy. Instead of a downfall, this third album represents a return to a long-forgotten land. “I want to show who I am and where I come from,” shares Charline Mignot, whose personality now fully embodies Vendredi sur Mer.
