BOBKOVA Autumn/Winter 2024-25

In the crucible of Berlin’s avant-garde Fashion Week, designer Kristiana Bobkova unveils her newest sartorial vision under the Berlin Contemporary spotlight for the third sequential showing. Kristiana, whose Ukrainian roots intertwine gracefully with her designs, has once again captured the zeitgeist of modern apparel with a nod to nature’s ebb and flow.

Her Fall/Winter 2024/25 collection is a homage to the fecundity of autumn, a season synonymous with the bounty of the harvest. “This collection is an essence of fall itself, a representation of harvest season that resonates with culmination and richness,” the illustrious Berlin Contemporary luminary elucidates.

Bobkova, a sorceress of fabric and form, previously led by the tender mallow, now turns to the muse of autumn’s splendour. The shades of the season dance across her more than 30 pieces, where casual wear transcends to new heights. We see Japanese influences meld with fluid, feminine accents in a blend so seamless, that time and geography blur into irrelevance.

Where last season bloomed with floral guidance, this year her runway blossoms with the golden hues of wheat, the deep purples of plums, and the bursting reds of apples. The collection is an ode to maturity, to the fruits of arduous labour, and the fullness of life.

Bobkova’s palette stirs the soul with wine deeps, blackberry darks, and rich Bordeaux, harmonized beautifully with the earthy tones of pumpkin, egg yolk, ochre, and eggplant. This auditory symphony of colour finds visual resonance in Ukrainian artist and architect Dasha Zima’s exclusively designed prints – a tapestry of Ukraine’s stylized harvest fields and orchards crowning selected outfits.

In a testament to sustainable fashion, BOBKOVA swathes her collection in eco-conscious splendour, sourcing from a cornucopia of upcycled materials and natural fabrics such as silk, cotton, wool, and cashmere.

The architectural grandeur of Berlin’s historic publishing house, the Pressecafé in Mitte, set the scene for the BOBKOVA runway show within the NEWEST show space. Every step taken on the runway was musically echoed with pieces by Ukraine’s own Anastasiia Vogan, composed specifically for the weaving of this autumnal tapestry. Here, Kristiana Bobkova stands tall, not just as a designer, but as a storyteller, weaving the rich harvest of fall into the very seams of her creations.
