Returning for its 2026 edition alongside POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair, FASHION POSITIONS will present contemporary fashion at the intersection of art and culture. From September 10 to 13, 2026, Hangar 5 & 6 at the former Tempelhof Airport will host 22 independent labels, showcasing current works that challenge and expand how fashion is designed, produced, and perceived today.

Rather than treating fashion purely as a commercial product or relying on standard runway setups, FASHION POSITIONS frames the medium as an independent artistic discipline. Garments and collections are presented as spatial installations, tactile objects, and conceptual statements. The open exhibition layout fosters direct dialogue between designers, industry professionals, and the public. Directly adjacent to the exhibition space, the FASHION POSITIONS SHOP allows visitors to purchase selected pieces on-site, offering direct financial support to independent designers and maintaining the platform’s reputation as a vital presentation and sales format for independent fashion in Germany.
For the 2026 edition, curators Diandra Donecker (Managing Director of Villa Grisebach) and Dao Tran (fashion journalist and editor) have returned for their second year of leadership to select 22 labels from a wide pool of international applicants. The curation avoids narrow aesthetic categorisations, focusing instead on structural independence, material experimentation, precise craftsmanship, and clear socio-political commentary.

A key highlight of this year’s edition is the special presentation “One person. One voice.”, a photographic series by artist Claudia Malecka, presented within the framework of the Mental Health in Fashion campaign founded by Florian Müller. The project centres on the lived experiences, perspectives, and mental health realities of industry workers, from designers and models to production teams. By spotlighting these voices, the project adds a necessary psychological and structural dimension to the exhibition, advocating for a more sustainable, humane creative culture.
Initiated by designer Mira von der Osten and art fair director Kristian Jarmuschek, FASHION POSITIONS takes place annually during Berlin Art Week and is funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises.
