“At a time when the ‘manosphere’ promotes alpha males and a hyper-masculine lifestyle, this editorial challenges the idea that strength and tenderness exist in opposition. Through intimacy and expression, the images present masculinity as something more open and evolving, where taking up space can also mean allowing softness to be seen. The editorial visualises masculinity as something other than hardness and restraint. Designer Hugo Ehret’s collection Paperfolds, featuring knitted paper yarn and hand-pleated accordion details that move with the body, creates soft, sculptural silhouettes and becomes the visual foundation of this exploration.”
