Electronic music icon Boys Noize returns with “Nächstenliebe,” a collaborative single featuring Berlin duo Brutalismus 3000. Arriving today via ONES and ZEROS, the track serves as the final preview ahead of his eighth solo album, 7LLVSION, dropping November 6th.
Possessed by the raucous, punk spirit of Berlin’s underground, “Nächstenliebe” unfolds as an industrial séance. The track launches with an ominous, step-sequenced bassline in the tradition of EBM pioneers DAF, cited by Boys Noize and his guests as an essential influence. Paying tribute to the late DAF singer, Brutalismus 3000’s Victoria Vassiliki Daldas delivers Dadaist German shouts across a sparse, half-time beat. Layered oscillators and gut-punch kicks build toward a relentless climax, stalked by threatening whispers before collapsing into haunting pads and warbling Sprechgesang. An accelerating snare roll drops the track into total frenzy, pounding with four-on-the-floor synths and redlined dembow drums.
Marking his first solo album in five years, 7LLVSION follows a monumental period for the German-Iraqi DJ, producer, and composer. Over the past year, Alex Ridha performed alongside Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross throughout Nine Inch Nails’ Peel It Back tour and co-produced the near-entirety of the TRON: Ares soundtrack, including the GRAMMY Award-winning single “As Alive As You Need Me To Be.” The trio formalised their collaboration with Nine Inch Noize, debuting at Coachella in a performance hailed by SF Gate as “one of the festival’s greatest performances of all time.” Pitchfork echoed the praise for their self-titled LP, writing, “Every song on the album slaps.”
With 7LLVSION set to land next week featuring additional guest appearances from ZEP, TAICHU, Maya Alkhateri, ABRA, and Safety Trance, Boys Noize continues to bridge the gap between global main stages and raw underground club culture. Throughout his rise from clubs to stadiums, Ridha remains committed to supporting the underground through his labels Boysnoize Records and ONES and ZEROS, staying true to a simple formula: embrace everything, compromise nothing.
