Ryan Barhaug is a fashion photographer and filmmaker from Chicago, IL. The shoots title ’Boystown’ is named after a neighborhood in the city of Chicago where Barhaug does most of his shoots. It’s a predominately gay neighborhood where there’s a lot of artistic freedom, a place Ryan finds a lot of inspiration.
“The fashion is the models own that he wears to various clubs in the city. All the clothes are vintage finds. We collaborated on styling the shoot and was a two person team for the entire thing. I consider most of my shoots to be a hybrid of documentary and fashion photography. I gravitate towards shooting people in their most personal spaces.”
