“With a background in fashion design, I have been making clothes for myself over the last few years. As a photographer and filmmaker, I have been looking for ways to incorporate those clothes into my own shoots whenever this was possible.
Not only my own clothes though. Also the clothes of my good friend Naud Verboeket who is the man behind the Dutch cult brand TEARS. TEARS is already widely spread in the rap scenes of the Netherlands & Belgium (think Joost, Kleine Crack, Ray Fuego & SOR). In the photoshoot that I planned with Berlin-based rapper & musician BRKN, I wanted to incorporate the Dutch streetwear heritage I brought with me when I moved to Cologne in February 2021 and give it a stage in two different landscapes inspired by illustrator G. Barbier’s 1913 fashion illustration “Costume de Bain”.”
