Danny Reinke Fall/Winter 2022/23 -Devil’s Delight

Designer Danny Reinke presented his new FW22/23 collection “Devil’s Delight” during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Berlin at Kraftwerk Berlin. The new prêt-à-couture collection “Devil’s Delight” breaks down various types of conflicting emotions from frustration to sadness to hope and optimism.

The collection is a reflection of internal human emotion. Sometimes this causes distance and disappointment that people overplay to avoid appearing vulnerable to others. Like the sad-faced clown in the ring performing to bring hope and joy to others.

The color palette covers various shades of red and pink to white and black. Black forms the base and gives the collection a somber elegance. Various checks and stripes are mixed dynamically to create wild pattern pairings. Playful ruffles and bows meet clear cuts and shapes. Reinke deliberately relies on pattern contrast to create a potpourri of different looks reminiscent of the Harlequin. Reinke’s classic menswear tailoring is taken up a notch to give the wearer an armor-like confidence. The designer’s own exploration of “negative” emotions paired with a defiant hope and optimism that ultimately plays a central role that metaphorically holds a mirror up to the viewer.

“Devils Delight” was an intimate and emotional fashion show that took place between concrete walls and was accompanied by a live performance by musical artist The Allegorist.
