Die Mode and Trille have come together in a harmonious collaboration, driven by a shared longing for tenderness, love, and understanding in hyper-capitalism. Their joint single “UFO” addresses an increasingly threatening and opaque world, highlighting the wonders that still linger within it. The belief that “there is something out there” symbolizes the hope that all is not yet lost. Amid the Amazon Towers and climate crises, perhaps a romantic summer dream is still possible if a UFO unexpectedly appears between the grey clouds. Combining modern social critique with a love song, “UFO” invites both dancing and reflection on the sweltering rooftops of the city.
With “UFO,” Die Mode and Trille present us with a pristine earworm perfect for warm summer evenings. They have also released an unprecedented music video, featuring four drones and a three-minute one-shot, cementing “UFO” as a milestone in Die Mode’s discography.

An Emerging Force in New German Pop: Die Mode
Frontman Maximilian Stulle and producer Justus Fischer of the newcomer duo Die Mode bring a refreshing breeze to the German pop scene, like a cool breeze on a hot summer day. Their productions, which navigate between the hits and anthems of pop and indie stars while not shying away from being different, have continually reinvented themselves across two EPs and two additional singles. Their sound navigates between melancholic darkness and upbeat pop, but always with synths and always with love. This is what Die Mode stands for: love in times of decline—a voice for a disillusioned generation that wants to celebrate and forget but is not afraid to be tender when it counts.
Die Mode was founded in early 2019 and began releasing music in 2021. With lyrics and vocals by Maximilian and sparkling productions and instrumentals by Justus, they quickly garnered attention in the German music scene. They were twice nominated for the Pop Culture Prize as the most promising newcomers and were invited to perform at the Popakademie in Mannheim. Their debut EP “Erste Etage” (released in November 2021) and particularly the first single “Spür mein <3” (released in February 2021) immediately resonated with lovers of German-language music. Radios such as Fritz FM, Flux FM, and Ernst FM featured songs from their debut EP in their programs. After releasing their second EP, they were invited by ZDF to Mainz for a video collaboration, resulting in three live videos: Chrom, Magenta, and Nach Rom.
Both born in small towns, Maximilian and Justus met in Berlin, where they lived together in a shared apartment and discovered their mutual love for music. They now live in different cities, continuing to collaborate through visits and remote work.
Their latest single “UFO,” featuring guest artist Trille, was released on July 12, 2024. The music video for the single was created in cooperation with Upup.Berlin premiered on August 24, 2024.
As someone who enjoys discovering fresh and innovative music, I must say that I like “UFO” a lot. Die Mode is undeniably a band to watch in 2024 and 2025. Their unique blend of social commentary and emotive storytelling, paired with captivating melodies and high-production videos, sets them apart in the music scene. Keep an eye on Die Mode as they continue to rise and break new ground in the coming years.
