“High tech, low life”
The past, present and future collide with colourful designs that inhabit the grey area between life online and offline. This collection features silhouettes that trigger a sense of history while pushing the form into tomorrow, a fine balance between the elegant and active. Retro visions of the future inspire a new direction for designs. The silhouettes are channelling 40s aesthetics with a jacket and skirt suits, sharp shoulders, nipped-in waists and A-line trousers, but at the same time, they exude a new, fresh, futuristic feel. Colourful leathers gleam on the touch of the light looking almost liquid-like with designs that are hyper-bright and ultra-loud. The collection reflects hyper-feminine, subversive, futuristic point of view on women and the position they occupy in contemporary society. The prints perfectly represent the digital era with a distorted digital pattern on pleated fabrics and provocative hologram anime girls seducing the passersby on the street that we can see in movies such as Blade Runner.
Tamara Bakaj recently graduated from Istituto Marangoni Milan School of Fashion. She spends her time designing and prototyping. Her vision is built on the concept of high-quality materials mixed with subversive culture and modern craftsmanship; which delivers a mix of feminine attraction alongside elegance. She has been focusing on power through her collections. Tamara presents women’s collections that seek to unite modern garment with strong emotions. She finished lingual High school where she learned French and German, while at the same time attending a one-year Fashion Design Course at Accademia del Lusso in Belgrade.
