“The Week” is the name of the weekly audio newsletter, a regular frequency filter for the age of ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’. Every Thursday, the podcast shines a ten-minute spotlight on the most important news and topics within the expanded universe of music culture: technology and digital innovation to fashion and art, to the pop cultural phenomena and social discourses that shape our feeds.

“The Week” is hosted by Kikelomo and OttO Kent and it accompanies the long-format artist conversations. The Electronic Beats podcast has previously hosted interviews with the likes of Sevdaliza, Mura Masa and Honey Dijon. The new episode of their conversational podcast – out today – features a long-form conversation with the Brazilian house DJ and producer Mochakk, hosted by Telekom Electronic Beats editor Marcus Boxler.

As a DJ and a radio host, Kikelomo is a regular at some of the most notable institutions in the world of electronic music and beyond: from Boiler Room to Berghain, Rinse to Resident Advisor. She is actively involved with various initiatives striving for diversity and inclusion in the industry, teaching DJ and music production workshops and hosting career accelerator programmes all around the world. She’s also a co-founder of Oroko Radio, the Accra-based community station with the aim to connect, inspire and empower through conversation, collaboration and community.

OttO Kent alias ̊OttO ̊ is a German/American cultural archivist, writer, and radio personality, currently based in Berlin. Their involvement in the electronic music industry dates back 15+ years and often centres itself around the conversation of the queer community in nightlife: from co-founding the Honey Soundsystem collective and touring the globe as a DJ, to producing radio shows and audio documentaries, to curating a lecture program. As identities evolve as quickly as technology, OttO Kent takes pride in keeping young queer people excited about owning their history, online and offline.

The international music program Telekom Electronic Beats has been shaping music culture for over 20 years since 2018 also with a podcast that radiates far beyond the boundaries of pop culture. Guests have included artists such as Billie Eilish, Honey Dijon, Refik Anadol, Keinemusik, Amelie Lens, MSBHV & more. In addition to the weekly news format, Electronic Beats will continue the deep-dive tradition with the “Electronic Beats Conversations” featuring extensive artist talks. The first Electronic Beats Conversation will be released on April 13th, with the Brazilian rising star on the global music horizon – Mochakk.

“The Week”, is now live on Spotify, Apple, Deezer and all other common platforms.
