Exclusive Mixtape: Antony & Cleopatra

British-Australian duo, Antony & Cleopatra, are back and they’re packing a brand-new, dancefloor jam ready to drive you wild in ‘The Islands.’ The London-based outfit’s pulsating new single sees the duo of Alex Burnett (ex-Sparkadia) and Anita Blay once again utilize their hypnotic vocals and four-on-the-floor beat combo to a transfixing effect – a natural progression from their vogue-worthy earlier singles, ‘Dust’ and ‘Twitch’. Fusing 80s house and ’70 disco, the pair releases an absolute banger of a mix, “inspired by London, E- numbers, 3 am and bad decisions. It’s the perfect house party soundtrack.”

‘The Islands’ which premiered on the airwaves via triple j’s Home and Hosed, showcases a new side to Cleopatra’s vocals, hearing her rap for the first time. Growing up as a first-generation British Ghanaian in East London is familiar with push and pull of city versus island life. “For me, it’s about the over-romanticizing the idea of ‘getting away from it all’. Then realizing that once you’re on a beach with your feet up, you’re suddenly craving the hustle and ambition of a big city like London.”

‘The Islands’ is out now via DEW PROCESS Records, stream/download here
