Icelandic hip-hop producer, rapper and beatmaker Lord Pusswhip joins our mixtape series with his nostalgic journey from the vaults. Now based in LA, Lord Pusswhip has picked up notable accolades including collaborating with Slowthai on the 2015 track, ‘Like A See Saw’ and scoring the music for the Adidas Originals X NBHD campaign. Along with production credits for names including Antwon, Kojey Radical and more, Pusswhip has released 4 studio albums and has just returned with his next full solo LP.
This is a previously unreleased mix from the vaults I made after arriving in the United States in 2019. As well as having some never before heard exclusives, the mix features various musical oddities I’d stumbled upon in real life or online.
Lord Pusswhip Is Rich was composed during Pusswhip’s stays and travels throughout Europe and the US in recent years. Featuring guests including Left Brain from MellowHype / Odd Future and Trippjones, the album was recorded in smoky studios and dingy backrooms in Berlin, Reykjavik, London, Amsterdam, and Los Angeles and New York.
