Sounds especially curated for your weekend! This week we have an epic mix from Columbian-born and LA-based DJ, producer, record label owner and radio show host, Lupe Fuentes. Having already released on labels like Simma Black, Mad Tech, Lost Recordings, Todd Terry’s InHouse and Nervous, Lupe is incredibly prolific and has been supported by pretty much every big tech/house DJ going. “I just came back from Movement Detroit, so creating this mix I was definitely very inspired by the sounds that I gravitated towards while I was at the U.S.’s best Techno Festival. Detroit has a very special raw, street nature about it that goes so well with the house and techno culture. Detroit was certainly inspiring in addition to drawing from the recognisable indigenous driving beats that I love so much.” This is a mix you don’t want to miss out on – hit play and enjoy!
“When I play or create music, for me it’s not just about a particular track, but more about a body of work, a vibe, a feeling that all of the tracks create in harmony with each other. My main goal when I created this, like when I create any mix, is to immerse myself into another reality of sound! I want to take you on a journey deep down into my world. Can you feel it?
Subdustrial Radio
Coming up I have the official launch of my 24/7 underground music radio station/channel “Subdustrial”, which is currently part of the platform “Dash Radio”. I program all the music all year round, so you will find a lot of unreleased and upfront tunes from your favourite underground DJ and producers. I also have aggregated over 20 weekly mix shows from people like Defected in the House, Chus and Ceballos, Claptone, DJ Sneak, Todd Terry, Boris, Will Clarke, Seamless Ibiza and many others, so there is a never ending stream of fresh content. Of course you can find my own radio show there as well. Curation is a big part of what I do. I like to bring people an immersive experience, and help them to discover new music and vibes!
Upcoming releases
In July there will be a collaboration with the Italian guys from 2 Sides of Soul, that will be out in the Imprint Lost Recordings. The same month I am back to my own label IN THE LOOP with a tune names “The Drugs” coming with a A Lister Remix. And the week after my debut EP “Keep It Together” On Younan Music with remixes by Electric Youth. This July I am very proud to be dropping my collaboration with my good friend Todd Terry, that will be delivered to you by my own label, In The Loop.
Finally, I just wanted to give a shout out to all the incredible artists who have been contributing to my label, IN THE LOOP. We have created something that has grown into a living breathing organism that seems to have taken on a life of it’s own! Thanks guys! Look for all our new releases on underground dancefloors wherever you may be!”
