FK B 5 STILTS – KOPF HOCH!

In a striking exhibition of avant-garde performance, Fork and Knife unveiled FK B 5 STILTS – KOPF HOCH! during Berlin Fashion Week, reimagining the interplay of dimension, proportion, and perspective against the iconic backdrop of Berghain. As guests streamed out from the pulsating heart of fashion’s most exhilarating week, they were met not with the low gaze of familiar faces but with towering performers sashaying on stilts, inviting a collective shift in visual focus.

KOPF HOCH! (Look Up!) implores us to abandon the habitual comfort of eye-level interaction, urging attendees to lift their heads and encounter the unexpected. This is a clarion call to transcend everyday routines and engage with our environment anew.

KOPF HOCH! A Vertical Reverie at Berghain

Inspired by a narrative of sustainability, the performers donned garments crafted from upcycled bed sheets, towels, tablecloths, and linens. These discarded textiles metamorphosed into flowing sculptures, their origins in domesticity reinterpreted within the public sphere, elegantly straddling the realms of fashion and art.

FK B 5 STILTS elevates the ordinary, prompting an introspective dialogue about how we engage with our surroundings. This performance isn’t merely a visual spectacle; it’s an audacious invitation to rethink the conventions of fashion in shared spaces.

Founded by the dynamic duo Sophia Sühwold and Paula Dischinger, Fork and Knife thrives on public and social interventions, embracing spontaneity through the agency of their bodies, the chosen public space, and an unwitting audience. With a shared history that began in the fashion design halls of Paris, their paths continued to converge in New York, where they’ve let their work speak volumes instead of grandiloquent discourse.

FK B 5 STILTS serves as both an editorial showcase and a lookbook, showcasing a collection that proudly revels in its vintage essence. As we behold these upcycled creations, we are reminded that every thread tells a story, and every performance invites us to envision the world through a different lens.
