A series of character studies that bring the visual language of the Italian baroque master Caravaggio into the 21st century. Although the lighting and set decoration aim at accurately recreating Caravaggio’s style, subtle cues in wardrobe and the diversity of subjects inform the viewer that these are, in fact, contemporary images—part of a forthcoming series of multi-figure tableaus.
About Tony Minas
Tony Minas is a photographer and director based in Los Angeles and Berlin. Having studied and trained both in the United States and Europe, Tony’s work is influenced by classical art as much as photography. His work has been seen on Deadline, InStyle and the Huffington Post, among others. In addition to his commercial work, he is currently expanding “From the Shadows” into a larger series of images that shed light on contemporary issues of gender diversity and sexuality.
