Fusing entertainment and music: Reviewing FIVE Music

FIVE’s Penthouse Club.

In May, FIVE invited KALTBLUT. for a weekend stay at their Zurich resort, situated on the outskirts of the city, nestled at the foot of the Uetliberg. Setting itself apart from other resorts, FIVE places a strong emphasis on entertainment, with their locations serving as vibrant music hubs that allow guests to fully immerse themselves.

Recently, FIVE Music announced a partnership with the esteemed Warner Music Group. This collaboration aims to discover promising global talent while offering guests at their resorts in Dubai or Switzerland an exceptional and opulent entertainment destination.

FIVE Music encompasses both a label and Spotify curation. The meticulously curated Top 50 Spotify playlist, accessible for pre-bar or Penthouse club indulgence in Zurich, showcases internationally renowned artists like David Guetta and Calvin Harris, alongside esteemed Tech House icons such as Butch.

A typical Saturday evening at FIVE Zurich starts at @thepenthousezurich, where one can indulge in a wide range of Japanese high-end dishes. Since there’s already a DJ playing a range of Tech House tracks, it’s easy to get into the mood. As the sun begins to dip, The Penthouse transforms into Zurich’s most exclusive nightclub. Drinks are waiting at the restaurant’s bar or the bathroom bar – a hidden bar that’s advertised as a place “where anything can happen”.

The hallway to the bathroom – and the Bathroom Bar.

Come midnight, the DJ warms up the crowd for the evening’s headliner and the night goes on until 6 AM. During our stay, the French DJ Flo Dosh graced the decks at the esteemed Penthouse Club.  Dosh’s infectious hit “Guataqui,” a perennial summertime anthem that has garnered a staggering number of streams on Spotify, proved to be an indelible crowd-pleaser. During his set, Dosh masterfully intertwined an array of boundary-defying sounds, seamlessly fusing groovy Tech House beats with tantalising Latin rhythms. However, the highlight of the evening came when he unleashed a mesmerising remix of the theme song from the HBO sensation “The White Lotus.”

A concept I’ve learned to love during our stay was the convenience of having several bars and a club at such close proximity to your room. No more waiting for a bus or cab, but rather just taking the left two floors down and you’re home. Not only is this convenient, but it also feels safer for those above-mentioned reasons.
