Following last year’s viral sensation ‘ICY (TAKE IT OFF)’ with Sweatbaby, a track that captures the emotional chaos of digital connections, Robert Baxter’s sound glides through the realm of club-pop, drawing comparisons to the likes of Troye Sivan and PinkPantheress. Their artistry has garnered recognition from tastemakers like triple j, F Word Magazine, and Kaltblut Magazine, landing numerous spots on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlists across the UK, US, Canada, and Australia/New Zealand.

Today, they unveil ‘MUSIC 2 MY EARS,’ a high-octane offering that expands their unique universe, laden with an emotionally open storytelling approach. “This song is about desire,” they reveal. “I want people to experience this track in the club, at the gym, or on the radio, and feel invigorated for their day. It’s such a thrill when someone checks the song and realises it’s Australian—what an awesome feeling!”
Surrounded by a vibrant circle of friends in the DJ, dance, ballroom, and modelling communities, Robert believes this anthem resonates with everyone. “Everyone needs a hype-up song, and everyone wants to feel desired,” they share. “I had the idea for this track, recorded a little demo, and sent it to Sweatbaby. He cooked up this fantastic vibe, seamlessly blending the flirty lyrics with a danceable beat and piano. We’re diving deeper into the dance-pop scene, and I’m absolutely here for it!”
As a non-binary Taiwanese/Australian pop artist, model, and influencer based in Naarm/Melbourne, Robert draws on a rich background in dance, modelling, and theatre. Their creative practice courageously navigates themes of vulnerability, desire, and humour, striking a balance between the serious and playful.
With the upcoming debut album, you wouldn’t expect cupid to cry in April 2024, along with singles like ‘SUSPICIOUS’ and ‘CAMBOY’ from STARGIRL, Robert’s diverse catalogue, striking visuals, and multidisciplinary approach position them as an artist committed to cultivating community spaces while carving out their own dazzling niche in Australian pop.
