“The forest swallows secrets, guarding life and decay like a silent witness. The scent of damp moss hangs heavy in the air, soft fur brushing against my skin. The wind knots itself in my hair. Skin against skin, raw and unpolished. My hands become scissors, severing a flower from its stem – its fading scent an echo of passing time.
The snake tears itself from its old shell, scraping away what no longer serves her. It is painful and inevitable. And here, too, in this in-between, this fleeting breath of huntress and prey, struggle and surrender, a moment of taut stillness before the balance shifts.”
