In a remarkable display of creativity, the prodigious designer unveils his second collection, inviting us on an enchanting stroll through the illustrious gardens of his countryside retreat. As we embark on this whimsical journey, echoes of carefree, poetic childhoods fill the air, evoking a sense of unabashed delight.

The collection revels in the cherished theme of childhood, with graphic prints that breathe life into each piece. Intricate textures, meticulously crafted with modelling clay, dance alongside hand-drawn illustrations, cut-outs, frayed edges, and vibrant dyes. Every garment effortlessly intertwines playful sophistication with artful craftsmanship.

Treading the delicate balance between technical materials and workwear influences, this collection pays homage to the remarkable artistry of gardening. With floral motifs taking centre stage, the designs celebrate the inherent beauty of flowers in all their forms – whether abundantly layered, intricately woven, or voluminously draped. The ethereal charm of grassy landscapes finds new life through exquisite embroidery.

Unveiling the true essence of the Loghan Troadec brand, this extraordinary collection extends its creative vision to exclusive collaborations, further accentuating the designer’s distinctive DNA. Adorned with meticulously designed accessories, these creations enhance the enchanting allure of Troadec’s imaginative world.

Prepare to be captivated by Loghan Troadec’s visionary artistry, encapsulating the essence of childhood wonder and evoking a harmonious blend of unbridled joy and boundless freedom. Allow yourself to be transported into a realm where fashion merges seamlessly with the spirit of playful liberation.

KALTBLUT: Tell me how you first became interested in fashion; and why you decided to become a fashion designer.

When I was younger, I always liked to explore different artistic media (painting, sculpture, writing, theatre etc.). At one point I had to make a decision about my studies, and I discovered a couture course. It gave me the opportunity to find out how to make clothes, and I was immediately hooked.

I think I could very well have used another medium, but I love creating the body and the freedom that fashion offers in a society where everything has to be tidied up.

KALTBLUT: Tell me a little bit about your journey that led to you releasing your new collection.

After creating the first collection, I felt the need to tell a new story and open a new chapter in the brand’s development. I was able to rework the brand, retaining its DNA and the codes it had established from the outset, but also develop accessories and play with a new image.

KALTBLUT: How would you describe your style and fashion?

My fashion is cheerful and colourful. My childhood inspires my collections, my memories and my nostalgia. I want to offer a world in which people can have fun and feel liberated.

The innocence in my pieces is very important to me, but so are the variations in materials and the development of new prints each season.

KALTBLUT: What would you say makes your design stand out against other brands?

My brand is intimately joyful, poetic and sometimes utopian. It goes against the grain of most dark and constantly politicized brands. The colour code is a crucial choice right from the start of the collection and is an integral part of the brand.

The brand stands out for its positivism, its touch of humour, and its playful, colorful pieces.

KALTBLUT: Where do you find your inspiration for your work?

My work is uniquely based on my childhood in the countryside. I love creating stories and transcribing my thoughts into collections.

The first collection was inspired by seaside vacations, And the second collection was inspired by hours spent in the garden of my childhood home. I can be inspired by a detail on an object, a photo in the family album, a drawing…etc.

KALTBLUT: What advice would you give to people who want to experiment more with the clothes they wear?

I think the most important thing is to feel completely free. There are infinite possibilities for dressing yourself, expressing your ideas, releasing energy or giving a message through the pieces you wear.

Sometimes you can feel protected behind your look, questioning gender and socially defined codes.

KALTBLUT: What are your favourite pieces from your collection?

Before talking about the pieces, I have a few favourite details about this collection.

I love the new print developed from a modelling clay sculpture, the mosquito net sweater with over 50 hours of labour for the handmade cotton thread knots, or the buttons with faux grass inlay.

KALTBLUT: How would you describe the local fashion scene/industry in your home town/ country?

Being based in Paris, we are constantly confronted with fashion with fashion weeks, and events, where designer and luxury brands from all over the world are present.

This city offers many opportunities to work with professional teams (models, agencies, textile suppliers, seamstresses, etc.) but with a community that remains small-scale.

KALTBLUT: What does being an independent designer mean to you?

An independent designer gives the brand greater artistic freedom and choice. The brand founder decides to create and produce what he wants, with a more human-scale company.

KALTBLUT: If your brand was ice cream, what flavours would it be?

Without a doubt; rosewater for the flower, curacao for the sea and vanilla for the sun.

KALTBLUT: What was the last music track you listened to?

“Game Boys” by the group Camp Claude, with the magnificent voice of singer Diane (with whom I’ve been collaborating for the past two seasons to photograph my campaigns).

KALTBLUT: Finally, what can we expect to see from you in the near future?

After the release of the campaign for this new collection, I’d like to work on an advertising video in the coming months. I love working on the brand’s image and developing it in the broadest sense.

I’m also working on my E-shop and the marketing of certain pieces.
