Last week we asked our readers to vote for KALTBLUT Magazine´s: Album Of The Year 2015! And the winner is … Isaura and her masterpiece “Serendipity EP” with 48% of the votes. 2nd is Plateau Repas – Best Of with 22,5% and third Chastity Belt – Time To Go Home with 17,2%. Congratulations to Portugal!
Portuguese singer Isaura released her EP ‘Serendipity’ back in 2015. Written in English, Isaura explains on her Facebook page she decided to write her EP in English (opposed to Portuguese) because she feels it is more ‘universal’ and will allow her lyrics to connect with a bigger audience.
Her synth pop sound, particularly in “Dancefloor” and “Change it” is moody, with overlays of the core melody haunting the song all the way through. The repetitious lyrics portray a strong emotional connection heard through her vocal.
