New York Men’s Fashion Week is one of the most exciting fashion events of the year. Perhaps the reason is that Men’s fashion week, being relatively recent, still keeps a lot of the Women’s Fashion Week early stages freshness and delicious naiveté with less celebrities and more street attitude. Focusing on the work of the more Avant-Garde designers we could see an emphasis on the experimental design and inspirational rough cuts of the fabrics. The morning shows portrayed on the one hand a more stylized gentleman with clean monochrome outfits, almost like uniforms for the 21 century working men. On the other hand we could see presentations with a touch of funky Miami summery looks. In contrast, the afternoons were dedicated to more edgy shows featuring post industrial looks, colorful parachutist attires, breaking all the conventions and getting us deeper into minimal industrial techno & punk sounds and atmospheres.
