Kids That Fly Share New Single “See You Dancing” Ahead of 2026 Tour

We got your new obsession for this week, and their name is Kids That Fly. They have been making quite the impression in the rock scene thanks to their honest and heartfelt melodies. Their music carries the defiant spirit of The Strokes and the anthemic pull of Imagine Dragons.

Kids That Fly first built their name through chaotic house shows near the University of Connecticut in 2018, where tight rooms and loud crowds helped forge the band’s early identity. As their audience grew, they continued working their way through the New York live circuit while travelling back and forth into the city to record their earliest releases.

That DIY drive has since grown into a bi-coastal operation after signing with Giant Music. Their recording sessions now span New York City, Los Angeles, and their home base in Connecticut. Even with that growth, nothing about them feels fake.

Their newest single, “See You Dancing,” leans into a bright, guitar-driven sound built for movement. The instrumentation carries a light, rhythmic energy, with guitars cutting through the mix and setting the tone from the start. Vocally, the track sits comfortably within that same space, weaving into the arrangement rather than sitting on top of it, which helps maintain its easygoing feel.

There’s a subtle nostalgic quality that may remind some listeners of classic British indie, including echoes of The Smiths, though the band frames it through a more modern, polished indie-rock lens. The production feels clean and intentional without becoming rigid, allowing each element to breathe while still landing as a cohesive whole.

Kids That Fly continue building their presence through live performances and ongoing touring as they expand their audience across different cities. If you have not seen them live yet, this is a chance to catch them on the road. They have already supported Ax and the Hatchetmen on tour and are now set to join The Strike and SUM SUN on the No Time to Waste Tour 2026. The tour will take them across North America with stops including Chicago, New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, and more. Tickets are on sale now.
