KiKi Holli + The Remedy Capture Desire and Optimism on New Studio Project “Something About You” EP

SoCal singer-songwriter KiKi Holli and her collaborative project, The Remedy, are following up a highly successful breakout period with a solid momentum builder and milestone in the shape of a 5-track EP titled “Something About You.” This new release offers a cohesive body of work that beautifully balances the airy textures of dream pop with the driving, shadowy layers of dark wave, perfectly illustrating the project’s main vernacular sound.

The rich soundscape of the EP is the result of a tight creative partnership between Holli and two-time Grammy-nominated producer Ethan Allen, who co-wrote, produced, and mixed the project. Together with Grammy-winning mastering engineer Dave Collins, they’ve woven a neatly cinematic listening experience where each song is full of deliberate theatricality, and this is best understood as a natural byproduct of Holli holding a degree in voice and theatre, as well as previously gaining critical acclaim for starring in and co-writing an off-Broadway musical about Dusty Springfield.

Across the five tracks, the EP explores different stages of human connection, desire, and perspective. The title track begins the journey by focusing on the primal pull of immediate attraction, which then transitions into the lush warmth of “The Garden.” The project also features a unique reinterpretation of INXS’s classic “Don’t Change,” which takes the well-known anthem into more intimate and vulnerable territory. After exploring the heavy ache of physical distance on “So Far Away,” the EP concludes on a highly uplifting note with  “Brand New Day.” All in all, a crystalline sample of KiKi Holli + The Remedy as a cohesive creative front in full command of their artistic vision.
