Little Sunny Bite

Little Sunny Bite is one of the cutest labels in the world, and is -not unexpectedly- based in Tokyo Japan. Devoted to rediscovering girlhood, and letting you “discover your own kawaii in you”, as she puts it, Yoppy, the creative genius behind Little Sunny Bite is talking to KALTBLUT about her inspiration, her pop-up store experiences, and her latest collaboration with Sanrio, right before her Pop Up store opening in ISETAN SHINJUKU on the 11th of February. How much cuter can it get!

KALTBLUT: Yoppy, your label is the happiest cutest! How do you come up with these designs?

Yoppy: Thank you so much. I’m so happy to hear this from you. Well, I’ m always mixing all images in my head and try to draw. The images are coming from everywhere. Like what I see, sometimes someone’s voice.

Ideas are everywhere. But when I see many colors, it’s really good inspiration for me. I visited London recently, it was the most incentive trip for me. I love to travel, to see people, it creates ideas. But generally, images are suddenly coming up to me.

KALTBLUT: You have had pop up stores in all important places! How has this experience been for you?

Yoppy: I was at the store everyday because I want to talk to customers. My brand is still small just started in 2014, so all customers are really important. Seeing people who like Little Sunny Bite gives me so much inspiration and makes me happy too!!! I can see what they want, so i can mix my taste and their needs .

KALTBLUT: Do you have a favourite item from all the stuff you have designed so far?

Yoppy: I just launched 15SS collection. There is some Hello Kitty collection too. I have been loving Hello Kitty all my life so I’m very happy to work with Sanrio. In this collection, I added street taste into the SWEET Hello Kitty world and made them easy to wear I believe. And I made a 3D ( looks like 3D ) ICHIGO news paper clutch bag . ICHIGO news paper is Sanrio’s news paper from 1975. I used this year’s cover and it is the first time in the world .
