#ModaLisboa – All photos by Emil Husaint. Luís Carvalho’s SS23 collection is inspired by the contemporary architecture of big cities. Next summer is an extension of the previous collection, where the main focus remains the mix between urban, relaxed and classic.
The edges and structures of the buildings, suggest oversized and straight silhouettes, as do the details worked on the pieces. The colours gain light and shine, with white, grey and fluor orange in line and striped patterns, worked over materials such as brocade, taffeta, twill and poplin.
Luís Carvalho (Vizela, 1987) graduated in Fashion and Textile Design at the Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco. He participated in various competitions in Portugal and abroad, and he won the award for the best male look at Acrobatic 2011. He worked at ModaLisboa and at Filipe Faísca and Ricardo Preto’s studios. Was a fashion designer at Salsa Jeans for two years until he decided to create his own brand.
