Track Premiere: Luke Markinson – ‘Hit And Run’

Kicking off a new era, Luke Markinson delivers high energy vocals over an electronic club-ready beat in new dance-pop song ‘Hit & Run’. Following his recent feature on Kiss FM radio and editorial playlist Hyperpop, Luke’s futuristic vocals create the perfect modern party song reminiscent of Ava Max and Kim Petras. The lyrical themes of hedonism, gay love, loneliness, and the inability to change add a personal layer to this banger. Luke is expected to release his debut EP later this Spring.

This is my favorite song I’ve ever made, and I can’t wait to see you going FERAL to it. I wrote this one about avoiding my problems and just wanting to party. So I hope you can relate.

Luke Markinson is a singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA. He credits Charli XCX, Troye Sivan, the 1975, and underground gay club music for inspiring his futuristic, glitchy pop sound. Bursting onto the gay hyperpop scene by breaking pop music norms, Luke has recently shifted into a more alternative-pop sound and looks forward to experimenting with other sounds within pop music.

His debut single, “Never Alone”, was featured on Charli XCX’s official ‘Beats by Dr. Dre’ playlist & his song, “Out the Bed”, was named “Best Track of the Week” by NYLON Mag. Luke’s music combines electronic hyperpop elements in its production style with a catchy pop chorus. His work has been featured in prominent music publications, including NYLON, St. Louis Magazine, Grindr, DUMMY, We Found New Music, Q Review, Indie Pong, Ringtone Mag, Copy Paste Magazine, and A1234, who said Luke “has the capability to produce some of the best work this genre will ever see”.
