Elisa Elisa is the latest artist to join our mixtape series! A former jazz piano student, Elisa fell head over heels for the vibrant French electronic music scene in her hometown of Lyon. The pull of Berlin’s electrifying atmosphere soon became irresistible. In 2012, she found herself immersed in one of Berlin’s iconic venues, Watergate, where she penned her master thesis on House Music. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of her global journey, sharing her passion and love for music with audiences around the world. “For me, party and music are about the community, sharing, and cherishing the moment,” Elisa reflects. Having emerged from the dance floor herself, she believes those moments hold a hypnotic power.
In 2020, Elisa released her debut EP, Drum Love, on Heattrax, which skyrocketed to #1 on Beatport’s Deep House chart. This success was soon followed by a collaboration with Emmanuel Jal on Cacao and numerous releases across esteemed labels such as HE.SHE.THEY, Nervous, Heist, Pets, NuLu, Club Bad, Redolent, Bambossa, Nite Grooves, and Sous, with contributions from the incredible Anja Schneider. Additionally, she has delivered explosive remixes from talents like Melé, Demuir, and Enoo Napa.
Elisa, a Franco-Algerian producer, honors her North African heritage while intertwining elements of her gospel roots. As she confidently states, “I am a mix!” This fusion is reflected in her music, allowing her to carve out a distinctive identity. Now based in Ibiza, Elisa Elisa continues to captivate audiences at renowned clubs and festivals, including Pacha, Panorama Bar, Amnesia, Night Tales, Papaya Playa Project, Antik, Fusion, and the Dockyard Festival. Further solidifying her impact in the music industry, Elisa Elisa has been featured in the groundbreaking book dedicated to women in House Music: The Lady of the House!
