Mixtape: Gamuel Sori

Next in our mixtape series, we welcome Italian DJ/producer Gamuel Sori! Renowned for his “grooves made in Italy,” Sori masterfully fuses disco, house, and electronic elements to create mesmerizing EDM tracks. His career took off in 2020 with the debut of ‘Money’s Gone’ on BBC Radio 1, quickly cementing his presence in Italy’s club scene with residencies at premier venues like Number One Disco. Sori co-produced the platinum hit ‘FASHION’ alongside Italian rap heavyweights ANNA, Lazza, and Tony Effe. His global collaborations with stars such as INNA, Gromee, and Mr. Belt & Wezol have brought his music to over 10 countries in Europe and earned him spots at the Amsterdam Dance Event. In early 2024, Gamuel Sori teamed up with award-winning DJ/producer Tujamo for ‘Sometimes’, which soared to #20 on the German Dance Charts. Additionally, his track ‘Let’s Dance (Volare)’ with Molella and Minelli has been climbing the radio charts in Lithuania and Bulgaria.

As I’m really into disco and house myself, I tend to blend those influences into my mixes. I love balancing well-known tracks with hidden gems, like Rome in Silver & Slackin Beats – ‘Stay’, because there’s something exciting about discovering new music while on the dance floor. I always aim for songs with a strong groove that fit my style. This mix, inspired by house and disco, features my latest track ‘Messing With My Heart’ alongside some older releases like ‘Early In The Morning’ and ‘Glitterball.

In his latest release, Gamuel Sori has joined forces with Izzy Bizu on the track “Messing With My Heart,” infusing a classic groove with a fresh, modern twist. Sori brilliantly reimagines The Spinners’ iconic hit, blending innovative soundscapes and contemporary rhythms to breathe new life into the beloved tune. Izzy Bizu’s enchanting vocals bring warmth and strength, harmonizing perfectly with Sori’s vibrant production. This collaboration bridges the timeless essence of classic soul with the pulse of today’s musical trends, delivering an exhilarating rendition fit for 2024.

Originally penned by Stevie Wonder, Lee Garrett, and Syreeta Wright, the new production carries the creative fingerprints of Gamuel Sori and Maury Pozzi, ensuring that the soul of the original is both honored and revitalized.

“The creation of this track began during a period when I was listening to a lot of soul music. I stumbled upon The Spinners’ 1970s classic, ‘It’s A Shame’ and wondered how it would sound as a disco-house track. As a long-time fan of the incredible talented Izzy Bizu, I knew her soulful vocals would be perfect. She was thrilled to collaborate, and we quickly got to work recording. The result is a feel-good disco-house track that we are very proud of,” says Gamuel Sori.

“Working on this record with Gamuel Sori was an absolute honour. Disco has brought so much light into my life, and I hope it helps you dance away your blues just like it did for me!” Izzy Bizu says.

On September 27th, Gamuel Sori is set to unveil “Alucinación”, an electrifying Afro-Latin single sung entirely in Spanish that diverges from his renowned disco sound. Stay tuned and pre-save here: https://gamuelsori.lnk.to/Alucinacion
