Mixtape: Lola Kay

Barcelona-based DJ and producer Lola Kay joins our weekly mixtape series before dropping her debut EP XTASY DANCE PROJECT on April 20th via Berlin’s House of (S)PUNK. Lola’s sets are known for their pure energy, percussive, full of acid sounds and dirty bass lines, which seamlessly travel in between genres raw techno, hard trance, hard techno, hard groove etc inspired in the groovy and raw sound of Berlin and playful energy of Barcelona.

I love the change of seasons in Barcelona, spring time with unpredictable weather, this vibe transfers into my music. This mix is a short journey into these moods, going in between genres, grooves and rhythm patterns, new and old gems, wrapping all up with my upcoming track ‘Living Breathing Xtasy’, that brings that ecstatic empowering vibe and promise of summer.

Born and raised in Minsk, Belarus, Lola Kay discovered her passion for music from the very early age, collecting CDs and records, making her own mixtapes at home. She got really emerged into electronic music scene since 2014 when she moved to Barcelona. Being one of the leading voices of new generation of artists she earned her place in the scene, played the major stages in Barcelona such as Sala Apolo, MOOG, Razzmatazz, Sala Upload, City Hall, Sala Siroco in Madrid, GLAZART in Paris etc For more than 2 years she hosted weekly radio show on Barcelona City Fm and Beats2Dance Radio (Netherlands) and since 2022 DUBLAB BCN. She collaborated with numerous radio stations and streaming platforms in London, NYC, Miami, Buenos Aires, Ibiza, Berlin, Madrid, Barcelona, Vienna etc.

Recently Lola Kay joined an Independent Label and Collective by well-known and respected Dj and Producer La Fraicheur – House Of (S)Punk , where her debut track “Not A Goodbye” has been released, premiered on THE BRVTALIST (Berlin). Her 2nd release “Never Ender Party Bender” was premiered on one the biggest electronic music platforms in USA – 6AM ( Los Angeles ) 3rd release “DJ DREAM” was premiered on Mixmag and released on House Of (S)Punk label in November 2022.
