Mixtape: SWOON

This week’s mixtape arrives courtesy of SWOON, the Berlin-based label and collective founded in 2020 by Sióg and Evalyn. What began as a monthly mix series aligned with the lunar cycle has steadily expanded into a sanctuary for spacey ambient, left-field electronica, and intimate, texture-driven club nights. Rooted in community, lunar cycles, and the intangible spirituality of sound, the platform now turns its focus toward a major charitable release.

On the full moon of 26 October 2026, SWOON will release a nine-track charity compilation with all proceeds going to UNRWA. Ahead of the digital release, the collective is hosting a pre-release party on 11 October at Berlin’s Ciao Ciao Bar, where a limited physical run of CDs will be available.

This mix offers an expansive preview of the compilation, balancing deep atmospheric textures with unexpected dancefloor energy.

“We opened the mix with Odessa Swan’s “Phases” – a track we’re both rinsing at the moment from her latest release on Clinging Vine. We think it’s sick and it reminds us of the moon. We’ve also woven most of the tracks from our upcoming VA “Music for Bathing in Moonlight” into this mix. The VA is such an eclectic mix of music but we wanted to show that it all works in a club-adjacent, or dance-music adjacent context. We love music – and mixes – that challenge what’s expected from that kind of a sonic space and experience. We’re here for the meandering, the surprising, the playful. We made this mix – after a period of brainstorming over whatsapp and shooting tracks back-and-forth – while spread out on the couch with the decks in front of us giggling and playing hooky from our day jobs, we hope the energy translates. It’s full of music that inspires us to make more music. If you like it, check out our latest release on SWOON.”
