Aaron Miller signed to AMCK is a rising star! With an over welling back catalogue of work its almost impossible to select what to talk about… His originality and nonconforming nature have led fashion labels such as Rick Owens and Vivienne Westwood to use him in their catwalk shows and presentations. Having met Aaron many times personally back stage, I can say first hand that his personality is intoxicating ossing strength and positivity. In this short informal interview we find out more about Aaron, crowning him this weeks Model of London!

How were you discovered: I approached every legit agency in London both online and personally however none saw my potential.. They said I was way to alternative and that I’d never fit in to the fashion industry .. I was way to unique to work with apparently. However I applied to AMCK and contacted Patrick personally and he asked me to visit him the very next day as he was flying out the country in two days… I got to the agency and he looked at me up and down for a while with a slightly confused face .. He took a few shots of me shook my hand and signed me… However he told me it would be a good two years when my hair has more presence and volume and length that I would start being recognised and appreciated… He was totally right.
What has been the high light to your career so far: No doubt doing a catwalk/presentation for Trapstar SS15 .. I have many goals I want to achieve within the industry but one of my goals for 2015 was to do something for one of London’s biggest street wear brands ( as I am a street kid at heart I wanted to represent where I come from) and a few days into the first month of 2015 I walked for Trapstar!
Whats the funniest thing a clients asked you to: Recently I did a shoot for Vibe Magazine… In the shoot they asked me to pour fairy liquid bubbles over my self for an editorial and then pour cooking flour into my hair and face .. (I had to wash my hair out for hours and had to launch Proudlocks ss15 launch party which I shot on my own that very same day but the images are amazing and it was totally worth it)
Whats your dream booking: I’d love to be the face of Stussy for one simple reason there catch phrase is ( IRIE) which I have tatted on my chest… I love what they represent.
I also want to book something HIGH fashioney for a catwalk in Paris.. One of my main goals is to prove a natty dreadlock model who won’t conform or adapt the ways the industry wants me to can still make it to the top.. I want to represent spiritually and culture in a industry that totally lacks it
Who’s your favourite fashion icon: I Definitely don’t have icons .. Don’t get me wrong.. I’ll catch Kanye West on Instagram looking fly as hell and I love the look.. Same with wiz Khalifa SOMETIMES However they all try to hard… I LOVE when something looks so effortlessly swaggy and as if it was tailored for that very person only!! Basically it all comes down to not being a copy cat.. Buying clothes for YOUR body shape.. Adapting and creating new looks and of course… Loads of thrift shops and charity shops!! I love them.
Whats the best piece of advice you were ever given: That I am the creator of my own universe, anything I desire I can easily manifest through the power of my subconscious mind and the law of attraction. Also that a life based on luck and no hardship will surely not endure, temporary fame and wealth is only temporary.. If your chasing your dreams and want it to last and leave a legacy your new to build your foundation first
What item of clothing could you not live without: Literally nothing.. What unfortunate situation leaves a person needing a physically item that much that they couldn’t live without it.
How do you keep fit: Gym sometimes but nothing even NEAR the amour people think I go.. Jog once in a blue moon.. TBH my body is all an illusion lol.. I can just about run to my local corner shop. I go gym on/off nothing special no set routine… Luckily the universe blessed me with a FAST metabolism and a 6pac from the age of about 9 lol
Whats you favourite food: FRIED chicken!! Two thighs .. Chips.. Burger sauce…
What was the last music track you listened too: A song called WORD by an artist called valley … He is a PROPER fresh artist and has deep metaphors and ideologies on how life is and is very conscious! Check him out on soundcloud!
What do you do to let your hair down: Love to get some friends … A bottle of red.. Some family guy and a deep topic about life and I’m in my ZONE!! I am also a Japanese Buddhist so I enjoy a lot of private mediation and chanting as well.
Whats the best thing about being you: My spirit.. My only aim in life is to purge as much darkness from this world and help happy people become even happier and help people who suffer come to happiness.. I have gone through some incredibly tough times and had to become self reliant and develop a heart of stone from a young age and I feel this has allowed me to gain a wealth of knowledge so I can help people and recognise there struggle and stop them from going down the wrong path .. My drug is watching someone’s happiness manifest because of my own actions.
If you were an animal what would you be: A lion… He loves his queen. Stands alone.. And has outstanding courage even in the face of death… I currently have two lions tattooed on me.
