David signed to Body London and maybe the hunkiest model to be featured. Still being a “New face” we believe David has a bright future ahead of him and we cant wait to see him go from strength to strength. In this interview we get to know him a little better and what makes him tick.
Name: David / Age: 25 / Birthplace: A small town in Cumbria that you’ve probably never heard of /Agency: Body London/ Category: Fashion
How were you discovered: I met my agent on my first ever night out in London. I was inquiring about getting a job at this nightclub and we connected, exchanged details, and the rest is history. It’s been madness ever since.
What has been the high light to your career so far: Ah man, there’s honestly been so many. I don’t think it could be fair to pick only one. I just keep my head down and work hard– i’ll have time to tell stories when I’m retired on a yacht somewhere in south Italy maybe!
Whats the funniest thing a clients asked you to: I did this post-apocalyptic shoot in New York a few years back. The concept and execution was brilliant but i was meant to shoot with a dreadlock wig on. Having always wanted dreadlocks, I thought, ‘Brilliant! Now’s my chance.’ Boy, was I wrong. It looked so unnatural that we decided to drop the wig and make my hair nappy. I think I’ll leave the dreads to the Rastafarians.
Whats your dream booking and why: Too many to choose just one. Adidas, Marks and Spencer, Nike, D&G, the list goes on. To be honest though, my dream is to get into acting so my first full length film will be my real dream booking.
Who’s your favourite fashion icon and why: David Gandy. He paved the way for guys like me to be in fashion and that, alone, makes me respect him immensely. Before Gandy, it was unheard of for muscular guys to be in fashion. The man is a legend.
Whats the best piece of advice you were ever given: ‘When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you will be successful.’ -Eric Thomas
What item of clothing could you not live without and why: Anyone who knows me will groan at this but it has to be said. My light blue All Blacks rugby shorts. I once spent an entire summer wearing them, literally, every day. Judge me.
How do you keep fit: Coming from a heavy Rugby background, I’m a weights kind of guy, through and through, so I lift 5-6 days a week. No cardio though… (I hope my agent isn’t reading this!)
Whats you favourite food: This changes quite frequently but, right now, it’s got to be Thai food. A dish called Pad Kee Mao (or ‘drunken noodles’), in particular, has my heart. Anyone who needs a Thai food sidekick, I’m always ready.
What was the last music track you listened too: I’m more of a Hardcore and Folk guy but, right now, I am rocking the shit out of Sia – Elastic Heart. Amazing song and the music video is unreal too. Shia Labeouf is killing it!
What do you do to let your hair down: I have a big music and film background. I’ve played drums and guitar in loads of bands over the past ten years and did the whole LA-based music management thing and then studied film in uni so I love to write music or watch a good film. You can’t go wrong with either, I reckon.
Whats the best thing about being you: I think my best attribute is that I’m very accepting of anyone. I don’t care what walk of life you come from– if you’re a good person, we’ll crack on.
If you were an animal what would you be and why: I feel like i would be a sort of hybrid, because I have two very different sides to me– one that is very dignified and another that is very cheeky. So I’d be a mix between a lion and a monkey…a Mion…a Lonkey.
