#MondayMood ABSOLUTE. – ‘Dämmerung’

London-based live artist, DJ and Producer ABSOLUTE. returns to his own record label Family Planning, with ‘Dämmerung’ – an uplifting slice of percussive techno. In German, Dämmerung means ‘twilight’, and that signifies the changing from day into night and vice versa. It’s a magical time and the light synth notes pluck away to unpick the old and transition into the new. On the flip, ABSOLUTE.’s fiesta ready ‘Neon Energy’ mix is an uptempo workout for peak-time on the dancefloor.

I wanted to create something that feels like change, the dawn of a new day or that twilight hour where the world seems to glow in transition, or in a larger context, new starts in perpetually changing times, which bring with it new possibilities, new chances, hope and new life.

ABSOLUTE. emerged from the peak of chaos into a new dawn last year. Storming the club scene with his lockdown-born mixtape Wonderland – a stellar genre-defying debut with a message of hope and equality for all. The record found him fans in the likes of DJ Mag, Mixmag, GQ, Attitude, 10 Mag, Wonderland Magazine, Dummy and garnered serious love across the airwaves with singles including ‘U4IA ft. Bklava’, ‘Sage Une Comme Image (Good as Gold)’ and ‘Piano Theory’ scooping up support from BBC Radio 1 tastemakers Danny Howard, Pete Tong, Jaguar, Sarah Story and more.

Recently announcing his forthcoming US debut at CRSSD Festival alongside Ben UFO, Four Tet, Joy Orbison and more, 2022 is set to be an astronomical year for ABSOLUTE.. Having had his debut breakthrough mixtape Wonderland (2021, Skint Records/BMG) shortlisted by BBC Radio 1 for 2021’s ‘Dance Album of the Year’ alongside Bicep and Black Coffee, the former Mixmag cover star also scooped up The Blessed Madonna’s ‘Guest Mix of the Year’ at BBC 6 Music, took his live show on tour supporting rave legends 808 State and sold out his debut London live show. Alongside a string of acclaimed releases ABSOLUTE. also made his debut at iconic venues including Printworks and Manchester’s Warehouse Project, and was invited to DJ alongside Honey Dijon at the Gay Times Honours Awards.

Fast-rising in the UK electronic underground scene, ABSOLUTE. stands out from the crowd with his addictive, hi-octane rave energy in DJ Sets, his euphoric productions and dazzling live sets, and has graced the booth at many iconic parties including Glastonbury, Printworks and fabric to name but a few. Cutting his teeth in London’s queer club scene as a promoter, the multifaceted artist is a champion for the LGBTQI+ rave community, committed to creating safe spaces. Founded in 2018, the Family Planning label was created as a platform for ABSOLUTE. to express his passion for diverse dance music. Now it’s time to reboot Family Planning, throwing open the doors to a carefully selected crew of collaborators guided by ABSOLUTE. to deliver music that captures the inclusive spirit of the project.

Alongside his musical accomplishments, Anthony is a passionate activist for human rights and has a longstanding track record of work supporting issues including climate, race, and LGBTQ+ justice. He has previously played at activist events and stages, including Glastonbury’s Greenpeace Rave Tree andXR’s International Rebellion. Having already cemented his name as an essential artist in the electronic world and with a jam-packed global tour diary ahead, an impressive, ever-evolving live show and a host of genre-defying releases and collabs on the way, ABSOLUTE. is fast becoming of the UK’s most exciting dance acts.
