Ivano Trabalza and Neysa Jin are partners in life and photography. Ivano has a passion for documentary and street photography; Neysa, Visual Arts and Cinema. Moving from these passions, their work is characterized by the relationship between candid and constructed. Their approach to image-making starts with a precise image, once on set they capture the moments of spontaneity and pause as well as defining moments of precision.
Recently they began shooting on film, a medium that challenges them to slow down and inform their study of an elemental artistic practice where what is used in the photo is also used to make the photo. In the beauty project My Sister’s Keeper, Ivano and Neysa use makeup to physically block or obfuscate the lense creating a dreamy soft atmosphere. They define their work as an ever evolving study, a way to record intimacy and light.
