Contrary to the stereotypes surrounding female “gold diggers,” Namilia unveils a revolutionary new image, one that defies the misogynistic social norms of class barriers. Drawing inspiration from the entrepreneurial savvy of using sexuality to navigate modern capitalism, as well as the aesthetics and opulence of nouveau riche, Namilia creates a mesmerizing fusion of empowerment and style.

For this collection, the duo finds inspiration in the designs of iconic couturiers such as Cristobal Balenciaga and Christian Dior. By infusing unexpected elements like lingerie, heavy metal merchandise, and status symbol handbags, Namilia showcases its signature eclectic attitude in over 50 breathtaking silhouettes.

One standout design, reminiscent of 90s goth and Cher from “Clueless,” features a maxi skirt and a mesh cardigan adorned with silver crosses. Another captivating ensemble consists of a bra top paired with a vibrant pink faux leather skirt embossed with a crocodile pattern, reminiscent of a luxurious handbag. However, the absolute showstopper is a red patent leather mermaid skirt, flawlessly styled with a bra and edgy motorcycle gloves.

Nan Li and Emilia Pfohl boldly state, “With our collections, we aim to empower individuals who fearlessly embrace their sexuality and utilize fashion as a tool for self-confidence and political expression.”

In a remarkable display of gratitude towards those who inspired “In Loving Memory of My Sugar Daddy,” including sex workers, Namilia collaborated with the Berlin chapter of the Black Sex Workers Collective, leaving an impactful material contribution.

This season marked the second time that Namilia showcased their visionary creations as part of Berlin Contemporary during Berlin Fashion Week. The choice of the magnificent Kronprinzenpalais as the venue perfectly aligned with the collection’s theme of glamour and extravagance.
