Naomi Jane holds fast to some very important memories

To say that Naomi Jane Voigt is a gifted individual would be an understatement. She has been working hard from a young age to become a multi-instrumentalist and a musical prodigy, and simply reading her resume makes it seem as if destiny has been set to greatness for this young talent, as the line between chasing excellence and being “chased” by excellence blurs.

Since the tender age of four, Naomi has been studying music-making in some form or another, mastering several instruments such as the guitar, ukulele, saxophone, violin, piano, and of course her mezzo-soprano vocals with a 3-octaves range.

Beyond the stage, Naomi made her television debut on PBS Kids with “Monkey Monkey Music” and left her mark in the award-winning series “Assisted Living.” She has also graced the silver screen, notably starring in the soon-to-be cult classic, “A Night with the Sheintops.”

Naomi’s artistic odyssey has carried her from the luminous streets of New York to the hallowed stages that dot the landscapes of California. With grace and finesse, she has adorned the boards in a myriad of off-Broadway and regional musical theatre productions, but it is her mesmerizing portrayal of Young Teddy Trager in the acclaimed masterpiece “Aussie Song” that shines as a luminary beacon in her captivating journey.

Naomi’s latest release, titled “Never Let Go,” is a ballad that strikes a balance between mournful and celebratory tones. The song features impressive steely guitar melodies that are overlaid upon mystifying syncopated beats. This unique sound breaks out of the confines of pop and enters a realm of its own.

The lyrics convey the struggle to resist changing one’s mind and the inevitable defeat in doing so. They speak of a love that endures beyond time, where once felt, it remains forever, emphasizing the unwavering commitment to hold onto this love, portraying its unbreakable nature and the indelibility of some experiences.

“Never Let Go is about how even after a great love has ended, that very love will forever be in your heart. I’ve only loved two boys, one being my first boyfriend, and even though we broke up, he will forever be my first love.”
