Nerima Desire! A self-assured girl moves through the Tokyo suburbs with the ease of someone who owes nothing to anyone. Here, carefreeness becomes a statement. Independence, instinct, desire. Her femininity is shaped by choice, not expectation. Nothing is imposed.
She already has everything she wants.
Barcelona-born visual artist Gina Botella, now based in Tokyo, has been moving through Asia since 2023, working across fashion editorials, backstage, and music projects in Jakarta, Shanghai, Taipei, and Tokyo. Drawn to characters with presence, her work explores the tension between softness and self-possession. Her visual language faces intimacy with attitude.
In Tokyo, she met Aki Horie, a half-Japanese, half-Venezuelan stylist who’s passionate about building characters and telling stories with just their clothes. The connection quickly turned into an ongoing creative dialogue. Together with model Akuonno and a close-knit team, they shaped Nerima Desire: a story of femininity, freedom and quiet control set in the Tokyo suburbs.
